How to decorate terraces of reduced dimensions.

You may not imagine the possibilities of outdoor living that are hidden in your little outdoor lounge.

For your terrace to become the ideal place to disconnect from the daily routine, it is not necessary to be a vast space. 

​Here we show you some tricks to make the most of your terrace.

​Choose light colours. 

When painting your outdoor space, it is convenient to choose light and bright colours.

White is especially pointed because it reflects light and gives a sense of spaciousness.  Also ochre, beige or orange are suitable colours.

​Avoid dark wood panels or strident tones. Tiles with geometric motifs can also be overwhelming and give the optical impression of shrinking.

​Pay attention to the floor. 

​Although the walls are significant, the floors are no less important. Think that we have more tendency to look down than up. Materials such as porcelain or marble reflect the light very well and help to enlarge the space.

But if your flooring is not in the best condition or outdated, specific outdoor rugs are the best option.

They give a warm touch to the stay and can be made bespoke. An outdoor carpet provides a warm feel to the area, and you will renovate the floor of your terrace easily.

​Choose the right furniture.

This is the fundamental step to make your terrace the most desired space in the house.

If your terrace is narrow but long, you can create two zones.

​Even when there is no natural light, we can still enjoy the terrace. On hot summer days, there is nothing better than ending the day with a refreshing evening.

Escape from wall panels and cold coloured light bulbs. They will dazzle you and make you miss the rest of the terrace or night landscape.

​Do not overflow with decorative elements and accessories.

When giving the final decorative touch, it is essential to choose the ornamental elements correctly.

They must be few, one or two are sufficient, and of large size or weight. If you put a lot of small and lightweight pieces, you will feel burdened and be afraid to throw them to the ground when you move.

​For small terraces, we recommend decorative glass elements. In this way, the reflections of light on the glass will visually enlarge the room and give an exquisite touch.
