Meet... Marina Palomeque, outdoor designer.

In Patio Top Garden Furniture we are passionate about outdoor life.  We are not only passionate professionally, but we also develop personal activities in which nature plays a predominant role.

The clearest example is found in our colleague Marina Palomeque. Apart from her work as a designer of outdoor spaces in the centres of Fuengirola and Marbella, she also develops other projects related to natural spaces and the outdoors.

Today we give you a small interview to keep us updated on her latest projects . Keep reading if you want to know what they are.

PATIO: Hello Marina. Could you introduce yourself briefly in case someone doesn’t know you yet?

Hi, I’m Marina Palomeque. I’ve been working in the world of furniture and exterior decoration for over 20 years. Although I have a lot of knowledge about outdoor decoration such as terraces, porches and gardens, I am always researching and studying new trends for new projects. 

PATIO: How was "Camper Turtle" born for Youtube? 

I have always loved outdoor life, especially enjoying a good evening with friends and family in the garden of my house. But I needed always needed something more, I do not settle for my garden and the sea views.

I love seeing different landscapes whenever I can. One day my partner and I had the idea of acquiring a camper, a vehicle that would serve both sleep and travel.  Every free time we can we escape meeting new places and we wanted to share our experiences and create a video channel on Youtube.

PATIO: What elements does this project have in common with your professional activity?

Great Mother Nature is my main source of inspiration. In my garden and terrace decoration projects, I always try to reflect the blends of colours and harmony that I find in my travels.

PATIO: How has the "Camper Turtle" channel been received by customers and friends of PATIO?

It was better than I expected. Keep in mind that in PATIO we spend a lot of time shaping any exterior decoration project and in the end, you end up developing a very close relationship with our customers. Many of them often watch our youtube channel and love that I propose ideas that are inspired by my travels.

PATIO: When you travel with your vehicle, what outdoor furniture can not miss you?

We always carry a pair of SEASIDE aluminium and porotex hammocks that are very resistant to sun, rain and humidity. But the most important thing is that they are foldable because saving space is fundamental for us.
If we are visiting somewhere hot we also carry a removable parasol with porophin canvas. Enjoy your sun loungers on the beach with a good shade is a joy.

We also bring a good folding BISTRO table to delight us with a good breakfast, lunch and dinner in front of a wonderful panoramic that we always look for. As it is made entirely of aluminium it is so light that we can take it anywhere.

PATIO: If someone who has never had a terrace or garden asks you for advice What would you recommend to start in the world of exterior decoration?

It depends on how the space to decorate: shape, measures, orientation if it has a natural shade, vegetation... Depending on all these characteristics, the first thing is to think about what activity they will perform in that space. If you are looking to organize meals or will have a sense more like rest

Now yes, first look for outdoor furniture made of aluminium and weatherproof fabrics such as porotex, porophin or olefín.

 From there, you start buying some pieces of furniture, and you complement it as you go. No rush. As they say in Arabic, "haste kills".

PATIO: Finally, what professional and personal projects do you have for this year?

For the moment, to continue travelling and visiting different places in Andalusia, and to continue towards the North, I want to cross the border and look at new horizons that inspire me in this magnificent journey of discoveries and knowledge. And of course continue to collaborate with the Patio Top Garden team that are great decorators, commercial and its select clientele.
