GOLDEN CARE is a company dedicated entirely to the development of protective and restorative products for the outdoor furniture of wooden furniture, especially those manufactured in Teak.

Teak is a hard tropical wood that, when new, has pleasant honey or brown colour. This wood, when aged properly outdoors, gradually changes its colour to a greyish/silver hue.  If the piece of furniture is not treated, this. silver grey patina deteriorates until it acquires a dark grey and greenish appearance until it ruins the wood.

In drier climates, teak will take several months to be affected as the colour will slowly pale.  In humid climates, where furniture is subject to the frequent action of dew and sunlight, wooden furniture will wear out more quickly and discolouration will be more pronounced.

What is the difference between the "Golden Care" protector and ordinary oils or sealants?

A piece of wood treated with normal teak oil turns grey within 6 to 8 weeks after which it is necessary to clean the wood again and apply a new layer.  The "Golden Care" protector is not an organic product and therefore lasts much longer. 

Other teak sealing products contain flammable ingredients that are hazardous to the environment. " Golden Care" has a 100% watery base so it is naturally non-flammable and respectful of the environment and our environment.

How do I protect wood against stains of water, food, oil, etc.?

The "Golden Care" protector provides protection, but this does not prevent food or oil from penetrating in the long term. To avoid this, the use of the Golden Teak (Shield) sealant is required. 

The shield covers the natural pores of the wood without damaging it. In this way, we avoid that external moisture does not penetrate the teak fibres because otherwise stains and fungi would appear.

So what’s the best way to treat my teak furniture?

First, we have to prepare the wood thoroughly with soap and water. If it is very deteriorated previously it will have to be cleaned using a metal scouring or soft sandpaper.

Later we will apply the protector "Golden Care" so that the wood does not dry out. Depending on our taste we can apply the variant "Instant Grey" to obtain silver or "Vintage" shades in honey.

Finally, we impregnate our furniture with the "Golden Care" sealant to ensure total protection against liquids, fungi and moisture.
