In PATIO we love the outdoor life. Enjoy a barbecue in our garden, take a sunbathe in our pool hammocks, share a family meal in our outdoor dining room or count the stars lying on the porch sofas: are many unforgettable moments we spend in our outer space.

We cannot ignore that to enjoy ouroutdoor space it is necessary to preserve the environment. At PATIO we are fully aware of the problems arising from climate change and the effects of greenhouse gas.

​That is why we have taken some measures to help preserve our nature and reduce our environmental footprint. So that we and future generations can continue to fully enjoy our terraces, gardens, penthouses, balconies, patios and porches.

What is climate change?

Climate change has now become one of humanity’s major concerns.  The World Health Organization  (WHO) has estimated that this would be the cause of 250,000 deaths between 2030 and 2050, as many diseases are related to temperature and rainfall, such as heat stress or malnutrition.

Melting poles, deforestation, increasing intensity of weather events, loss of flora and fauna... are just some of the most pressing dangers facing humanity if we do not make progress towards sustainable development of our production and consumption habits.

Garden furniture made from sustainable wood.

In PATIO all outdoor furniture using wood comes from certified sources. This wood is 100% sustainable, as it comes from reforested forests.

Dining tables, armchairs, sun loungers or wooden sunshades are labelled FSC (Forest Stewardship Council). This badge ensures that the wood comes from forests that have been audited by an independent third party that ensures proper management and reforestation following rigorous social and environmental standards.

Zero Residue Certification.

PATIO centers and our logistics and distribution premises are in the process of achieving Zero Waste certification. This management system, certified by AENOR, shows that all waste is managed and recovered by at least 90%, avoiding landfills.

Sustainable packaging.

In PATIO we have eliminated any single-use plastic, both in the packaging of products and in bags for customers. Instead, we use only recycled or reusable materials.

According to the circular economy model of the Ellen McArthur Foundation, to which we are committed, any production model should be based on:

• Eliminating waste and pollution from design
• Keep products and materials in use.
• Regenerate natural systems. 

Lighting control systems are in place.

Patio showrooms at La Costa del Sol have lighting control systems to make buildings more efficient and environmentally friendly, as they improve energy efficiency and reduce the economic cost of lighting. 

These light systems take full advantage of natural light, so they only use the electrical grid when needed. This reduces the emission of CO2 Oto the atmosphere since the use of solar energy is prioritized at all times.

"No more papers" project.

From our commercial department, we did not want to stop contributing our bit of sand and that is why we have reduced by 80% the use of paper in the daily management tasks. Thanks to the implementation of new computer systems we have saved the consumption of consumables to the minimum expression.

Gradually we are introducing the use of electronic tablets in the tasks of commercial attention. In this way, any customer can receive their quote, order or invoice directly on their phone or mail account, with the consequent saving of paper.
